View our Art - The ideal Haugen's experience begins with a visit to our studio before the portrait process even begins. If you've never seen our portrait art in person, we encourage you to visit us and view the portraiture, so that you can begin to envision your future portrait art.

Consultation - Next in our process is a warm & friendly consultation. Whether we meet in the studio, your home, or enjoy a phone conversation, we want to explore your portrait needs. The consultation lasts approximately 30 minutes, & this is where we begin brainstorming & making initial decisions. We will discuss placement, composition & emotional symbols – those physical objects, memories, special places, activities & interests that tell the story of your life.

Portrait Session - Depending upon the type of session you choose, your session may last 1 – 3 hours. Thanks to the consultation, clothing decisions are already made, portrait ideas have been discussed, and all that is left is to enjoy the moment.

Selection Appointment -This is a very important meeting, because you will choose how you & your family will be visually represented. At this special time, we will present you with our selection of your best images. Our musical slideshow is always a favorite part of the portrait process!

This enjoyable appointment is designed for you to make your portrait decisions, so it is important to schedule when all decision-makers can be present. Clients are encouraged to finalize their order during this appointment, so that we can pass on our cost-saving to you.
